The most important thing about 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey:
We made significant changes in the Upper Deck series to provide an even more impressive collecting experience!
Changes:
- Improved ratio of insert cards to base cards in each pack. Each pack now includes an average of three (3) inserts.
- Introduction of the amazing base parallel set, which also means more Young Guns cards!
- And although we changed the configuration (number of cards per pack/packs per box) every box still includes at least one (1) Young Guns® card on average.
Series 2 includes an additional 250 cards (251-500) from the 2023-24 Upper Deck base set. The Upper Deck base set is annually the most collectible base set in hockey. The set includes 198 veteran cards, 49 Young Guns® cards (the most anticipated rookie cards of the season!) and three checklist cards. Watch out for Outburst parallels!
Fans and collectors will be thrilled with the UD Portraits cards! The 2023-24 insert version features star veterans and rookies like you’ve never seen before! No two two-player portraits are the same. Series 2 hosts the final 30 cards of the UD Portraits 2023-24!
UD Canvas®, a set long favored by collectors, includes a collection of today’s top stars, the best of the Young Guns® and only in Series 2 the shortened subsets of Retired and Program of Excellence (rookies who played for Team Canada). Series 2 includes an additional 150 cards (C121 – C270) from the 2023-24 set.
New insert sets. The latest edition of Series 2 offers an impressive range of new insert sets that will surely please everyone from casual fans to avid collectors:
- Director of Boards: This set features some of the physical players in today’s game.
- Ecliptic: Top stars and rookies are depicted shooting pucks in this brand new set.
- Instinctive: Fans of goalies will love this set, featuring the best goalies making saves! Collect an average of one (1) per box.
- PC’s: This set of superstars boasts probably the best player from every team along with three extra superstars! Collect an average of one (1) per box. Parallels Sparkle and rare Gold Sparkle are also available for each set above, to be collected!
- Deep Roots: This set features 50 base players! Collect an average of one (1) Deep Roots card per box.
- Glaring: Each card in this rare set features a detailed eye image of a star player!
- Monster Season: This special set commemorates Connor McDavid’s 2022-23 season, which culminated in his third Hart Memorial Trophy win! There is a card for each of his 82 regular season games – each with a photograph and some text about the game.
Popular inserts Honor Roll and Dazzlers are back! The Honor Roll set ends in Series 2, so be sure to complete your collection! In Series 1, checklists were made up only of star veterans, but in Series 2, the Honor Roll® checklist consists only of rookies, while the Dazzlers checklist includes more star veterans with several rookies. Each box will contain an average of one (1) Honor Roll® card and one (1) Green Dazzlers card. Green Dazzlers cards are only available in Blaster boxes!
Insert O-Pee-Chee Glossy features star veterans and top rookies. Collect an average of at least one (1) per box and watch out for golden parallels!
