The monk is a powerful fighter with a strong weapon card, the "Penetrating Jumonji Lance". Optional backward movement, and a 3-field distance attack ensures that almost no one can flank the monk. In addition, you can embark on the path of enlightenment, which is challenging but elevates your monk above all living beings.
The sailor is inspired by William Adams, a British navigator who sailed the seas on the shores of Japan in the sixteenth century, who eventually became a samurai and advisor to the shogun. His advantage is the pistol and the ability to transform it into a black sword during combat. With the pistol, you can use the "Frightening Black Shot", which deals remote damage at the difference in initiative.
